Perusing the Pali

Despite having been back on this island for three years, before Saturday I had never taken a trip to the Pali. So after a quick trip to my trusty googlemaps for directions (and a brief detour to pick up my adventure buddy), I set off to see if the windiest place on Oahu was going to live up to it's name. One dropped phone, misread maps, and an hour of traffic later, we finaly managed to park and trek the three yards to the lookout.

The view is amazing! But just standing around trying not to be blown away while listening to the southern drawl of a sunburned father trying to get his entire family into a group shot is not necessarily exiciting. How could we fix this problem? Well, our solution was to trek up the side of the mountain to try and getting a less crowded and windblown view. And although I informed my friend every five minutes that he was going to die as he climbed up to get the best view ("Facebook picture!") it did make the Pali Lookout more entertaining. I"m not sure if I will be going back anytime soon, but if you're on the Pali highway and want to take a quick break with a beautiful, then nothings better then the lookout.
